Happy 1st day of Summer! So why not post a blog of a few beautiful faces to go with a beautiful summer day. :-) I had the pleasure of hearing from Mikael, one of my former Brides, who has now started her own makeup artistry company called F.A.C.E.S. and I must say, she definitely know what she's doing behind the makeup brush. We completed session one of her portfolio and it was great! I had a lot of fun with the ladies and Mikael was a sweetheart as usual. Her staff was great and kept me laughing the entire evening. Looking forward to the next one, but until then, here's a little preview of what we captured on that night...enjoy!

Okay, now the young lady above started her portion of the session by saying she didn't know how to pose or what to do. I beg to differ, she completely ROCKED it!

Grrrr!!! That's what I'm hearing in my head every time I look at this set of photos. Our beautiful model Tanya was bringing it left and right.

Alright, enough about me already, now let's get to the beautiful couple that this blog post is really about...Grace & Andy! Doesn't that sound like the perfect name of a tv show you would like to watch? Well these two are just as cute together as there names are. James & Uchechi Wedding | Getting Ready

I was so happy to reconnect with yet another high school classmate by the name of Uchechi earlier this year. She is an energetic fashionista who found her true love one evening at the Trenton Marriott at Lafayette Yard. Uchechi and her husband James fell in love and hit the ground running by realizing that they are not only meant to be partners in life but also in business and Event Radiance was born. These two are such an inspiration to others as they show love to each other and to their community by hosting monthly networking events together.

Fast forward to probably their biggest event to date....their wedding day! It was a wonderful September day fit for a King and Queen and of course that means they could only be married at a castle. Fonthill Castle was the perfect location for this most beautiful wedding day. Here is just a portion of the day as they prepared to start their future together.

Once again, I had my main man, Jesse Chiang, on deck to assist me with shooting for the day and he got these shots of the guys getting ready.

This is so cute, the Bride wanted to make sure that her girls got her in her dress nice and tight. Can't you see the determination in her face?

Jared & Farrah Wedding | Preview

Well, I never get tired of saying this and I'm grateful that I can always say this...I LOVE MY CLIENTS!!! Jared and Farrah are just the greatest two people that could have ever decided to become one. I actually went to high school with Farrah and we reconnected on Facebook earlier this year and I'm so glad we did because it resulted in me sharing one of the most important days of her life.

It's been 12 years (OMG), since high school and so it was good to see her again and when I met her now husband, the one and only Jared, I just knew that I was going to have a blast at their wedding. After seeing them two together and getting to know them as a couple a little better I felt like I had been there from the beginning. It's always a dream to feel such an embrace from a couple like I did whenever I talked with Jared and Farrah. They are so sweet to each other and even though Jared almost fainted when he popped the question, he couldn't have made a better decision for his life then to marry his best friend. I could go on and on about these two, but for now I will just show you a few of my favorite images from the first part of their day.

Farrah made sure that her house was ready for the big day as well. There were so many great Fall decorations, everything was just so pretty.

You'll see more from this Bridesmaid, she was quite hilarious. All the girls were.

This is Muffin. I've always been a little scared of cats because I feel like they are one second away from scratching my eyes out but Muffin calmed my fears, she was very sweet. And she happened to be everywhere I was in the house so I guess she was my bodyguard for the day. :-)

Well the answer is ME!!!

This isn't new news but it's not that old either...lol. I'm so excited that God has sent me my one true love and he has asked me to be his wife for life! It's always been an amazing experience to photograph couples during one of the most important days of their lives but I now have a brand new appreciation for love and for the wedding planning process. I can totally relate to my Bride's now on a different level and I'm having so much fun swapping stories with the Brides that I've worked with during my planning process. So the countdown is on and I will be a Bride myself in 2011 and I plan to do what I always tell my Brides to do...enjoy every single moment!

And for all those who want to know who's going to be my photographer...well, I'm currently working on a special harness that will allow me to be a Bride and the photographer. :-) Stay tuned...

Andrew & Lorna | Engagement Shoot

So look who's back to blogging. I have made a promise to God to stay up on my blogging and I dare not go back on that promise so here we go!!!

Recently, I met up with Andrew and Lorna for their engagement shoot. These two are from South Jersey and are currently planning their summer wedding for 2011. They are such a cute couple and everything is just so peaceful when they are around. I know we're going to get along great! They picked a gorgeous Fall day to spend outside and I found myself gaining a new appreciation for all the beauty that the Fall season has to offer. (despite the stink bugs that were falling from the sky)

Andrew and Lorna were a little nervous but it didn't take long for them to show the camera how into each other they were, they had a lot of great laughs and were so much fun to shoot! Here are some of my favorite photos from our session:

Baby Soleil "The Sunflower Baby"

This little lady made her appearance to the world on July 11th. One of my best friends, Rosa, gave birth to this little bundle of joy and I was there with her every step of the way. Although I'm a bit traumatized by the experience (lol) I couldn't imagine not being there to see this little bundle of joy being born. There's more images to come, just wanted to post this one because she's just so cute. Don't you just want to bite her?

Donald & Monique Wedding | June 19th

Wow, what a hot and busy summer this has been, which would be the reason why I haven't been blogging on a regular basis but stay tuned...I have tons coming for you!

Now let's get to the good stuff, although I've known this beautiful Bride for many years, I didn't assume that she would choose me as her wedding photographer but I'm so glad she did because I had an amazing time at this wonderful wedding. I've known Don for about a year or so now and he is such a nice man and also HILARIOUS! I'm so glad to have met the both of them and they make a beautiful. Isn't nice when love finds you?

Here is a little glimpse into the wedding day of Donald & Monique Devereaux! (by the way, hands down, Monique has acquired an awesome last name, and everyone agrees that she wins the "Best Married Name" contest...lol)

Sadly, Monique's father, Mr. Larry Clark, departed this Earth suddenly just a few weeks before the wedding. Monique and her family were still in such great spirits and touched me with their display of love and happiness as they celebrated the great memories they had with Mr. Clark. And I came across a photo that I took of Monique and her father just last June and got this charm made for her bouquet. I wanted to give her a beautiful memory of her father to carry with her on her special day.

My main man Jesse Chiang was with me again on this wedding and as always he got some great shots during the day like these shots of the Groom preparing to meet his Bride.

I had to post this shot of the Groom's grandmother. Doesn't she look sharp in her all gold ensemble? Love!

Another great shot, the bridal party was told to have fun with the recessional part of the ceremony, but I don't think anyone had more fun than the mother of the Bride. She is getting down!

JUST MARRIED!

Another special thank you to Mr. & Mrs. Devereaux for booking the band that I happily co-manage with my fiance'...The B-Side! (I keep busy, huh?)

Monique shared a special dance with her brother Nigel in honor of their father. Such a sweet moment!

And this is Stephen & Jenelle Thompson. I just had to post this photo because this couple was just so darn cute, showing their love for each other from start to finish. Don & Monique have some great friends in their life.
Towards the end of the reception the new couple surprised their guests by taking to the stage and joining their band in song. They weren't shy at all...I love fun couples like this! :-)

A good time was had by all, and Don & Monique along with their guests had a blast on the dance floor grooving to some great Gospel music. I even got on the floor for a good second, but I will spare you from seeing those photos...lol.

After a long day...
This couple was so great to work with and I had so much fun at their wedding. Thanks again Don & Monique for letting me be apart of your special day. Here's the last shot of the night...I stalked them as they waited for the elevator to go up to their honeymoon suite...I never stop shooting. :-)

Baby cousin Tony aka T3 featuring big sister Alyssa

Although he's been here a little over a month now, let me introduce to the world my adorable baby cousin Tony III otherwise known as T3 since his father is a Jr. The proud mom and dad brought this little bundle of joy to me to photograph him at just 10 days old. Here's some of my favorites...

Proud big sister Alyssa joined in on the fun. When she first got to the shoot she decided she wasn't going to take any pictures but one promise to let her play with my little Bichon Frise', Diamond, changed her mind very quickly. And I was shocked to see that she was a natural in front of the camera, I loved her energy and ability to take direction so well. She could really do some damage in the industry, look out world!

And here's the proud poppa, Tony Jr., such a good father and husband. These two together are just too cute!

Alyssa had to get one last shot in before it was time to go home. I love my family!

Lewis & Myriam | Wedding

Okay, so I'm a little late, but better late than never, right? I'm so happy to post the wedding of Lewis & Myriam. They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Kip's Castle in Montclair, NJ and God truly blessed them with a gorgeous day. The sun was shining, the temperature was perfect, and the Bride & Groom were absolutely stunning! Here's a peek at their special day...

Chad Pennington assisted me with shooting and he got this great shot of the castle and ceremony space. You can see just how beautiful the weather was. Love it!

Sorry Lewis, but I had to post this one. Most guys try their best not to cry when they first see their bride coming down the aisle, but they almost always let at least one tear slip out and I don't blame Lewis, his Bride was GORGEOUS!

I can't say it enough, this was a most beautiful ceremony, complete with praise dancers and all.

I love this one, Myriam's face right after being pronounced husband and wife is priceless!

I think she still can't believe it...

Their guests then joined them at a lovely reception at The Richfield Regency in Verona, NJ, and they had an unforgettable PARTY!

Again, I must say it, Myriam was a gorgeous bride! Hair, makeup, dress, flowers, jewelry, and how can I forget the shoes...all flawless!

Lewis and his best men had a little fun with their pictures, they were hilarious. And the bridesmaids were beautiful in those dresses. I love bridesmaid dresses that you can wear again after the wedding. :-)

For Mr. & Mrs. Devereaux! I couldn't wait to post a preview of their much anticipated wedding day. There were so many beautiful elements of this "Garden of Love" themed wedding and I had soooo much fun. I even found myself out on the dance floor towards the end....don't know how that happened...lol.

Monique has been following the growth of my photography business from conception and in fact used to help me coordinate family portrait days at my church and she's seen just about every photo I've done whether I showed it to her or not...lol. I tried to get away with only posting one teaser photo but I know my Bride isn't having that...right Mrs. Devereax? So here's a few more teasers from that very special day. Enjoy! (P.S. Ahhh, what can I say about Milton & Kim? They are just the sweetest couple ever and so deserving of the love they have found in each other. Milton & Kim have been on the most amazing journey and these two have quite the story to tell. It's almost like a fairy tale, but there is no happy ending to this story, only a happy BEGINNING. James & Uchechi | Engagement

Meet James & Uchechi! I went to school with Uchechi and reconnected with her on Facebook, who knew that FB could be a good thing...lol. They own a business called Event Radiance and they have these great networking events monthly at the Trenton Marriott. I was so happy when she told me that they had gotten engaged and even more thrilled when they asked me to be their photographer. You must know that I hardly had to give any direction to these two, they were real pros in front of the camera. We had lots of fun in Philly shooting their engagement photos on what had to be the windiest day of the year. You can hardly tell in these photos but were almost blown away several times by the ferocious winds but somehow we made it through. Thanks for being troopers guys...allergies and all. :-)

Baby Khylie | Portrait Session

You may remember Keevon and Shaneeka from last year. Their engagement photo below is still one of my popular images. I shot their wedding in May of 2009 and exactly one year later they welcomed a baby girl into the world name Khylie. I just can't express what it means to me to be able to continue to work with my Brides and Grooms long after the wedding. These two are very sweet and love each other very much. So happy for this family!

Just thought I'd throw in one of the wedding photos too...tee hee.

And here's Miss Khylie! Now don't let this photo fool you, she only stayed in dream land for about a minute. Apparently, we should have gotten her permission first before deciding to try and take a million photographs of her because she was not a very happy baby with all posing, moving, and adjusting but here's a couple of the shots we were able to capture during her calm moments. I think it's safe to say that we'll be trying this again in a couple of months, right Keevon and Shaneeka? lol

I know, you probably have lots of terrible things to say about my skill in regards to updating my blog regularly. I apologize, time has really gotten away from me but I promise to do better. :-)

I've got a lot to catch you up on so let's start with Amber & Troy's wedding. I told you before, I have known Amber since the 8th grade and so I felt so privileged to be able to share this important moment in her life. My favorite person to shoot with, Jesse Chiang, assisted me on this wedding. We had a blast and even met some photographers from Italy who didn't speak a word of English but we communicated through our equipment. Alright, enough of my chatter, let's get it started!

This is Amber & Troy's son, Troy Jr., he had to make sure that I knew what I was doing and I think I had his approval after this moment.

During the wedding planning, Amber was shocked to learn that she was getting ready to bring another bundle of joy into this world. By the time the wedding came she was 5 months pregnant but you barely knew. She was worried about how her dress would fit considering she purchased it before she found out the exciting news, but with the help of her Aunt, the dress fit GREAT!

Troy Jr. was the first to congratulate his mommy and daddy. So cute!

And this is the cutest little flower girl, Miss Chase! She was adorable and loved the camera.

Okay, so I'm guilty of letting the holidays and New Year roll around without me keeping up with my blogging. Please forgive me! So let me catch you up, my last wedding of 2009 was such a beautiful and romantic one and I was so happy to have had the opportunity to work with this lovely couple. Corey and Mikael have been dating for about 16 years and so it was only natural that the next step was marriage. This was the marriage that many had been waiting for and you could tell by the love that was felt in the room by all their guests. When a Man Loves a Woman...

If you want to find out what it means for a man to love a woman just hang around Vernon and Tina and you'll see how much a man can love a woman. I'm sure you remember the Casablanca-style engagement session that I had with this lovely couple earlier this year, well the day finally came when they would become husband and wife. I've known Tina all of my life, but I was still very honored when they asked me to photograph their special day.

Now before I shut up, let me say to know Vernon and Tina is to know that they are extremely unique, trendsetters and very stylish. This was evident even on their special day. Thank you again Tina and Vernon for allowing me to be apart of your "I Dos".

When Silly Met Sillier...

This engagement session turned out to be the most fun I've had all month. Sometimes when you know the couples that you're working for personally it can be a challenge, but I must say there were NO problems in sight when working with Tameka & Jeremy. I've known Jeremy since I was a child and I went to high school with Tameka and I'm so glad they found each other. The groom is a lover of serious books, comics, and all things silly and the bride is a lover of gossip magazines, Starbucks and all things silly so they have a common denominator. I knew this was going to be an interesting and fun day when it started raining the minute we were in route to our destination and I stopped for umbrellas and when returning to the car I was serenaded by the couple as they sang the "Meatball" song and exchanged freestyle raps. We had some fun and I just had to share a little with you all....ENJOY!

Lewis & Myriam Engagement Session

I'm so glad to have met Lewis & Myriam. They are so sweet to each other and although they seem a little quiet (at least in front of me...lol) they sure do know how to come alive in front of the camera. I'm almost certain that if I'd asked them to dangle off of a building they would have done it, that's how easy it was to work with them. So I know that on wedding day next year we won't have any problems getting great shots. Here's a few photos from their engagement session that we did in New Brunswick, NJ in Rutgers University territory which is where they went to college together. Such a cute couple, I just can't say it enough...so cute!

Okay, so I met little Miss Kassie and I just fell in love with her. She is sooo adorable and I just wanted to take her home with me. Although she wasn't a fan of the outdoors, we were still able to capture some really good photos of this little princess. Her mother and I tried to set up our own ideas for photos for her but she had her own plans and I quickly decided to just work around her mood and what she wanted to do. (after all, she's only 5 months old...can you believe it?) It was a really hot day so I'm surprised Miss Kassie lasted as long as she did in the outdoors so we eventually moved inside and before our final part of the session she went to dreamland but she was so cute I just kept shooting. This might be the couple that wins the award for most in love. These recent college graduates are the nicest, most friendliest, most humble, most loving, most humorous, most....well you get the point. They are just good people! The way Phil & Cristal carry themselves you would think they never had a bad day in their life because they always have a smile on their face. Just being around them will inspire you to love with a sincere heart. I can truly say that there was no one else on this earth that was meant for these two but each other. Phil has his Cristal and that's exactly how he treats her, like a sacred jewel. Awwww, I think I might be getting teary eyed...so enough of all this mushy talk, and I'll just show you a few photos from their day. (can someone hand me a tissue...lol)

Jessica and Randy, what can I say besides these two really know how to let loose and have fun. I met this couple just earlier this year in a Starbucks. (fyi, that's when I fell in love with their Artisan breakfast sandwiches...lol) This was an interesting meeting because what I didn't know was that they had planned to hire me right there on the spot. They were so gracious to let me go through my whole presentation and speech about why they should choose Photoray for their wedding and I told them to think it over and that's when Randy let me know that there was nothing to think about. I was a bit overwhelmed I must say but it was nice to know that they knew what they wanted and it was my pleasure to photograph their special day.

Graduation Party

Once again I was back at the Daniels residence to photograph an event that every parent would be proud of and that's graduating and entering high school. Omarr is an outstanding student and all around nice gentlemen and would make a great role model for any youngster coming up after him. They transformed the backyard of the family's home into a nightclub called "Club Meez". lol

Of course this cool teenager had to arrive in style and so he made his grand entrance to greet all of his family and friends. Not bad, not bad at all.

Another little treat for the class of '2013' was that this event was catered by an old favorite....MCDONALD'S! Old fashioned cookie boxes and an endless amount of cheeseburgers, french fries and of course the Chicken McNugget. What more could a kid ask for? :-) Not to mention an extravagant cupcake assortment with cupcakes like I've never seen before. Oh how badly did I want one....lol.

Congratulations Omarr, I can't think of a kid who deserves it more. Keep up the hard work and the good grades and continue to make us all proud!

Sweet 17 Party!

Do you remember when you turned Sweet 16? Well most girls dream of having one and only some girls get to actually have one, but let's not forget that 17 is just as important. Daniels Family

I traveled down to South Jersey to shoot a private family photo session and it turned out GREAT! A lot of funny stories came out of this shoot and I often reminisce on this day and how much fun this family was to shoot. The little one was so adorable I could keep him in front of the camera all day but after awhile he wasn't having that. During their engagement session I saw that Shaneeka was a little shy in front of the camera, but I had to let her know that I was expecting lots of kisses on the wedding day. :-)

After a few shots and they had loosened up a bit we got some great shots that really displayed their everlasting love for each other. They really loved the photos from their engagement session and decided to hang several enlargements around the room at their reception and it was beautiful!

Fast forward to their wedding day....what was meant to be a rainy day turned out to be a beautiful sunny day, (at least during our formal photos), and I couldn't have been happier with how the day went. I wanted to share just a couple of their photos. Now keep in mind some of these are unedited as I want to save the final products for the bride and groom to view first, but stay tuned I'll post more photos later.

Although I did this shoot a couple of months ago, I wanted to blog about what a great time we had doing this engagement session.

Tina and Vernon wanted to go with an old Hollywood theme, almost like taking scenes out of a Casablanca type movie. Awww, the love!

These guys were a lot of fun and more importantly they are really in love and you can see it each time they lay eyes on each other. Their laughter is contagious and they are extremely entertaining. I must say, Tina's sophistication mixed with her bold style and very comic nature mixes very well with Vernon's smooth yet very enthusiastic and fun personality.

I am so honored that Tina and Vernon has selected me as their wedding photographer and I'm looking forward to their special day. Here are some more photos from their session:
